My Secret Weapon to combat Stress

I had three different people ask if I was okay today. Every one of them said I looked really tired. Maybe that's because I haven't gone to bed before midnight the last few nights. I hope and pray I am not becoming an insomniac.

I am tired. So this evening I decided to pull out my secret weapon to combat stress. A little muscle relaxer, if you will.

(MAJOR PAUSE...I answered the phone without looking at caller id. The guy was doing a telephone survey. I always say "No thanks" and hang up, but tonight I was feeling generous. That was before I knew I was going to be on the phone for 15 minutes with him. Those guys really need to work on making shorter surveys...)

Back to my muscle relaxer...no, it is not a pill....here she is:

OH, Yes. My 10 year old daughter gives an amazing massage. Of course, I don't have much to compare it to. I have had one official massage by a true masseuse. I am a poor mama...I cannot afford to go get a massage every week or even every month. I do take credit for training and teaching the correct way and the incorrect way. She truly may have a calling.

Just recently she has become an entrepreneur. I now pay her $5 for a fifteen minute massage. I figure I'm getting a decent deal since those massage chairs at the mall charge $1 for every three minutes. She made $10 tonight. And I feel good. We both win.

This post is my inaugural post for Works for Me Wednesday.

My boys love to give mom a massage! Sometimes one will massage my feet, one will massage my hands or my head and one will massage my back.
Hey, we could say we were developing their fine motor/fine muscle skills... ;)

My kids like to give an occasional massage too but they lack the finger strength at the moment (oldest is 6 1/2 yrs) but what a great idea to pay them for it in a few years! Course, I'll have to keep up with their training... you know, so that it's a payable "job". =0) Thanks for the tip.

From one poor mama to another...

This is an awesome idea! Love it! Keeping it for future use. At 3 (on June 10) their hands are so small as is their attention span. Maybe if I could get them to do it together it would work! :)
